๐ **January Good Catch Award** ๐
The January Good Catch Award goes to Cody Andrews’ crew in Little Rock for their outstanding commitment to job site safety.
During the normal course of construction, handrails, guardrails, and other permanent protective structures are often removed or modified to allow access for equipment, materials, and personnel. When these permanent safety barriers are removed, temporary barriers are installed. However, these temporary systems are often less durable and resilient than permanent barriers.
This crew observed that several temporary barriers along the 18-foot-deep leading edge were loose and unsecured, creating a significant fall hazard. The Koontz crew immediately reported the issue to the General Contractor, who promptly reinforced the barriers to ensure safe working conditions.
This is a textbook example of a Good Catchโrecognizing a hazard, speaking up, and preventing a potentially catastrophic incident before it occurred.
