Bryce Koontz

Bryce is QA/QC certified with the US Army Corps of Engineers, has over 30 years in computer applications, and has completed Project Management / Building Construction Management courses at Purdue University. He holds completion certificates for Primavera Scheduling software and CONEST electrical estimating software. Additionally, Bryce has earned Masters Electricians and Contractors licenses’ for multiple states including Arkansas, California, and Alaska.
In August of 2013, Bryce was promoted to Vice President of Business Development for Koontz Electric Company Inc. Currently, Bryce assists in supporting both the Project Management and Administrative sides of Koontz Electric Company by seeking out new business opportunities via, Computer Database Research, Marketing, and through participation in various Industrial Conferences and Trade Shows across the country.

Dean Hoover
President / CEO
Dean joined the KECI staff in November of 1990. He is responsible for all construction operations activities including project design, construction management, and engineering. Dean has over 30 years of experience in the electrical industry in design and construction management with broad design experience in power generation and distribution, controls and instrumentation, automated control (PLC’s, PC’s, DAS), and airport lighting. He was formerly a design engineer for Garver and Garver, PA of Little Rock, Arkansas for five years.

Jeff Ludwig
Executive Vice President / CRO
Jeff Ludwig joined Koontz Electric Company, Inc. in August of 1988 while continuing his education at the University of Arkansas and Bismarck State College. Ludwig’s experience with KECI includes high voltage substation installations, SCADA/data acquisition systems, lock and dam power and control systems, switchyard rehabilitation, hydroelectric powerhouses, and other electrical installations. Before current employment at KECI, Ludwig served in the U.S. Army as a noncommissioned officer. Ludwig also served in the White House Communications Agency located in Washington, D.C. as a senior lead power technician. At this agency, Ludwig was responsible for providing quality service for the executive branch of the government throughout the world for audio/visual and communication needs. Ludwig is a master electrician and a member of the Society of American Military Engineers.

Richard Dold
Executive Vice President / COO
Richard Dold joined Koontz Electric Co. in 1978 as an apprentice electrician after graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Morrilton. With over 44 years of experience, he holds a Master Electrician License in multiple states, is OSHA 30 hour certified, and is QA/QC certified with the US Army COE. Over the years, he has served as General Superintendent for various electrical projects including Commercial Office Buildings, Data Centers, Paper Mills, Solar Power Systems, Power Plants, and Substations up to 500KV. Richard served as Vice President of Field Operations and is currently Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer.

Bryce Koontz
Vice President / Business Development
Bryce became a member of the permanent workforce at Koontz Electric in 1987, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University in May 1995. Summers, extended holidays, etc., saw Bryce on the payroll learning the basics of the electrical trade. Since April, 1997, having had several years of in-the-field experience, Bryce was promoted to Estimator/Project Manager; where he performed the various duties/responsibilities of day-to-day project management, estimating, and construction scheduling.

Paul Zimmerman
Vice President / High Voltage Division
Paul became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in May, 2004, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE. Working through college saw Paul on the payroll learning the basics of the electrical trade and the process of project management. He also completed a summer internship at Garver Engineers where he learned about design and became familiar with CAD applications. His management duties with KECI include projects with water/wastewater plants, manufacturing plants, generator governor controls, PLC gate controls, and substations. Paul has completed additional job training in QA/QC Manager for COE, OSHA 30, CPR Training, and various additional operation of equipment and tool trainings.

Jamie Zimmerman
Vice President / Government Affairs
Jamie became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in May, 2004, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE. Since joining Koontz Electric he has worked as a project manager/estimator with an emphasis on government projects. The majority of his project experience is in hydroelectric plants, including GSU Transformer, Excitation, Governor, and Balance of Plant projects. He also holds a master license for the State of Arkansas, OSHA 30 hour training and a construction quality management for contractors certification from the USACE.

Matt Zimmerman
Vice President / CFO
Matt joined the company in 2005. He began his employment at Koontz Electric as a payroll clerk and moved on to billing, the office manager, and VP of Finance. He is responsible for all financial and administrative activities of the company, including accounting, personnel administration, IT, and other administrative functions. He earned a Bachelor of Science, major in Economics and Finance in 2001 from Arkansas Tech University.

Joseph Dold
Vice President / Utility CRM
Joey Dold joined Koontz Electric in May of 2000. After graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic School, he began the electrical apprenticeship program while working in the field. Upon completion of the four-year program, Joey passed the journeyman electrical exam, and thereafter the master electrical exam in Arkansas and Texas. Since joining Koontz Electric, his responsibilities have included working on government projects, such as DC system replacements and substations including design-build. Joey has years of equipment and safety training, is QA/QC certified with the US Army Corps of Engineers, and OSHA 30 hour certified. Joey served as Superintendent, Construction Manager, and is currently Vice President / Utility (CRM) Customer Relations Manager.

Jeremy Stell
Vice President / Technical Service Division
Jeremy joined Koontz Electric in January of 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Arkansas, as well as an Associate’s Degree in Electric Power Technology from Bismarck State University. In 2005, Jeremy moved into the General Manager position of the newly developed Technical Services division of Koontz Electric, where his responsibilities included the oversight of marketing, sales, B&E, accounting, and safety. Prior to becoming General Manager of the Technical Services Division, Jeremy’s responsibilities included network administration, corporate licensure, and assisting the project management team.
