The October Good Catch Award goes to Ben Noll’s Corp of Engineers Crew in Fort Peck, Montana. This crew has had two (2) Good Catch’s in the past 30 days.
1. The crew found a crack in one of the rented wire rollers. If this issue had not been addressed, the equipment would have likely failed once it reached its 5,000-psi operating strength potentially causing damage to the equipment or harm to the crew.
2. When arriving to the jobsite one morning, the crew discovered that a large hole cover had been removed overnight, creating a 40’ fall hazard into the water. The crew immediately coned off the area, kept watch on the opening to keep other personnel out until the customer could replace the cover. The panel likely moved due to 85+ mph straight-line winds that occurred the previous day.
