2017 Excellence in Construction Award Project.

Koontz Electric Company, Inc. partnered with Philips Lighting to design and install Philips Color Kinetics LED fixtures to illuminate the north face of the upper truss structure and the front face of the newly constructed Harahan Bridge crossing in Memphis, Tennessee.  In order to accomplish a uniform wash of light along the entire bridge, four linear runs of ColorGraze MX4 were installed and located on the upper angle shield of the crossing to illuminate the historic railroad structure.  And additional linear run of ColorGraze MX4 was located outside the base of the crossing to illuminate the front pedestrian barrier, giving the design a strong base.  All fixtures used a combination of red, green, blue, and amber LED’s to achieve a warm light, but also create a dynamic color show for special events and holidays.
