Koontz Electric Safety Award
One Million hours worked without a recordable incident.

KOONTZ ELECTRIC COMPANY is excited to announce the achievement of a significant safety milestone, One Million hours worked without a recordable incident as classified by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), as of March 1, 2019.  We are proud to hold safety as a core value, and celebrate this success.

This safety milestone is a direct result of our employees’ ongoing pursuit of safety excellence and places KOONTZ ELECTRIC COMPANY in an elite group of contractors.  Less than 60 contractors, one in ten thousand contractors nationwide, have accomplished this achievement in the past 30 years, according to the Zero Injury Institute.  This performance level clearly validates our “Safety Excellence” and sets the best of the best performance standard for the 21st Century.  Our Power is in Our People.

This achievement is also built on our safety leadership in nine key areas: Demonstrated management commitment, Employee Engagement, Education and specialized training, Staffing for safety, pre-Project and pre-Task Planning, Audits and Evaluation, Recognition and Reward, Accident/incident investigations, Drug and alcohol testing.  We believe our Human Performance Tools are also a critical piece to safety performance.

”I would like to personally thank each of our employees for their dedication that has resulted in over a million work hours without a recordable injury,” says Dean Hoover, Executive Vice President, and COO. “KOONTZ ELECTRIC COMPANY believes that our vision of a “Zero is Achievable” culture delivers a commitment to protect our most valuable asset, our people.  We will continue to drive safety success to world-class.”

“On behalf of the Executive Management, I would like to take this opportunity, to congratulate all our employees on this outstanding safety accomplishment. Behind this achievement stands a solid culture of safety with dedicated efforts that extend to all levels of the company, ultimately ensuring the safe completion of projects and the return of each of our employees to their families every night,” says Benny Koontz, President, and CEO.
