The September Good Catch Award goes to the Koontz Testing Services (KTS) Crew. While on-site performing maintenance work during a scheduled outage, the customer provided information on how to de-energize the work area. Before beginning work, the KTS crew performed their own evaluation of voltages present and identified an issue with the customer-provided instructions. If crews were to have followed the customer’s instructions, the primary shutoff would not have terminated power, potentially exposing employees to live power. The crew was able to identify the proper disconnect and begin work safely. Great Catch by the KTS Testing Crew!
