Richard Dold joined Koontz Electric Co. in 1978 as an apprentice electrician after graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in Morrilton. With over 44 years of experience, he holds a Master Electrician License in multiple states, is OSHA 30 hour certified, and is QA/QC certified with the US Army COE. Over the years, he has served as General Superintendent for various electrical projects including Commercial Office Buildings, Data Centers, Paper Mills, Solar Power Systems, Power Plants, and Substations up to 500KV. Richard served as Vice President of Field Operations and is currently Executive Vice President / Chief Operating Officer.

Jeff Ludwig

Jeff Ludwig joined Koontz Electric Company, Inc. in August of 1988 while continuing his education at the University of Arkansas and Bismarck State College. Ludwig’s experience with KECI includes high voltage substation installations, SCADA/data acquisition systems, lock and dam power and control systems, switchyard rehabilitation, hydroelectric powerhouses, and other electrical installations. Before current employment at KECI, Ludwig served in the U.S. Army as a noncommissioned officer. Ludwig also served in the White House Communications Agency located in Washington, D.C. as a senior lead power technician. At this agency, Ludwig was responsible for providing quality service for the executive branch of the government throughout the world for audio/visual and communication needs. Ludwig is a master electrician and a member of the Society of American Military Engineers

James Zimmerman

Jamie became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in May, 2004, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE. Since joining Koontz Electric he has worked as a project manager/estimator with an emphasis on government projects. The majority of his project experience is in hydroelectric plants, including GSU Transformer, Excitation, Governor, and Balance of Plant projects. He also holds a master license for the State of Arkansas, OSHA 30 hour training and a construction quality management for contractors certification from the USACE.

Paul Zimmerman

Vice President / High Voltage Division

Paul became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in May, 2004, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE. Working through college saw Paul on the payroll learning the basics of the electrical trade and the process of project management. He also completed a summer internship at Garver Engineers where he learned about design and became familiar with CAD applications. His management duties with KECI include projects with water/wastewater plants, manufacturing plants, generator governor controls, PLC gate controls, and substations. Paul has completed additional job training in QA/QC Manager for COE, OSHA 30, CPR Training, and various additional operation of equipment and tool trainings.

Joey Dold

Joey joined Koontz Electric in May of 2000. After graduating from Sacred Heart Catholic School, he began the electrical apprenticeship while working in the field. After four years of apprenticeship Joey passed his journeyman electrical exam and thereafter the master electrical exam in Arkansas and Texas. Since joining Koontz Electric his responsibilities have included working on government projects, including DC system replacements and substations including design build. Joey is QA/QC certified with the US Army Corps of Engineers, OSHA 30hr trained, along with various other equipment and safety training.

Brandon Baker

Safety Director

Brandon has more than 10 years of experience directing safety programs in construction and general industry with an emphasis in energy production. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Emergency Administration and Management from Arkansas Tech University. He is a licensed emergency medical technician, first responder instructor, and OSHA instructor. In 2021, he was awarded the Arkansas Builders and Contractors Safety Director of the Year Award. Brandon is very active in our community, as the Chairman of the Conway County Hospital Board of Directors, and Chairman of the Conway County Emergency Food and Shelter Board. He is a member and past Chief of the Conway County Volunteer Fire Department.

James joined Koontz Electric in April of 2012. After graduating from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE, James worked with an electrical contractor learning the basics of the electrical trade prior to joining Koontz Electric. Since joining Koontz Electric his responsibilities have included working on government projects, including hydroelectric plants and substations. James is QA/QC certified with the US Army Corps of Engineers along with various other equipment and safety training.

Stephen became a member of the permanent work force at Koontz Electric in May, 2013, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a BSEE. Since joining Koontz Electric he has worked as a project manager/estimator with an emphasis on government projects. Tyler Kellar joined Koontz Electric in November 2022 as Project Engineer. He graduated Morrilton High School in 2005 and Arkansas Tech University in 2010 with a BSEE. He spent the next 6 years in the utility world in both transmission and distribution before working with Walmart in their Energy division. From there he spent 2 years working for the DOE on the Oak Ridge National Laboratory complex as a Project Engineer.

Zane Haney joined Koontz Electric in July 2022.  He is a Conway County native and Wonderview Daredevil.  He recently graduated UALR in Construction Management, while interning for three years with a general contractor.

Jeremy Stell

Jeremy joined Koontz Electric in January of 2001. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Central Arkansas, as well as an Associate’s Degree in Electric Power Technology from Bismarck State University. Prior to becoming General Manager of the Technical Services Division, Jeremy’s responsibilities included network administration, corporate licensure, and assisting the project management team. In 2005, Jeremy moved into the General Manager position of the newly developed Technical Services division of Koontz Electric. His primary responsibilities include the oversight of marketing, sales, B&E, accounting, and safety for the Technical Services Division. Jeremy has completed both MSHA training and Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification from the USACE.

Stephen is responsible for working one-on-one with our clients on their various electrical projects, ranging from minor repair of existing equipment to new construction. Stephen works with the client from the electrical design phase, to cost development and analysis, through construction and start-up. Stephen has several years of field experience in both commercial and industrial electrical applications.

Michelle became part of the Koontz Electric Project Management team in October 2018. She has an AAS in Business Office Technology from the University of Arkansas Community College Morrilton. Michelle is certified in Construction Quality Management for Contractors from the US Army Corps of Engineers. Michelle is responsible in assisting the PM’s with bid documents.
